Many Argue The Threat Targets Democracy
It is amazing how the liberals can even spin the notion that Hillary Clinton should not be jailed for her email scandal. They continue to ignore possible RICO violations by her Foundation. And Bill Clinton’s alleged rape of Juanita Broderick is cast off as Broderick being a “tramp.”
Donald Trump’s threat to jail Hillary Clinton if elected President through an independent prosecutor would be the best possible action for a country that has become increasingly clouded in the politicization of its most precious institutions. The Justice Department under Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch is as corrupt and supportive of Barack Obama’s White House wishes as ever been witnessed. James Comey’s FBI has assumed a similar role as an investigation into the Clinton email scandal was more about “intent” than violation of the law. The Clinton Foundation’s operations from donors to expense deductions has been ignored by both.
Yet there are those who suggest that Trump’s proposal to “jail” Hillary Clinton somehow targets democracies institutions and sets the stage for Trump, in some distorted way, to pull down institutions and the political system from within. They have suggested that Trump’s action would correlate to the likes of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela or Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe.
Trump’s comments are not a threat to the rule of law, since President Obama and his Justice Department have decided to not enforce the laws as written. It is not a threat to our institutions, since they would be kept from operating the old double standard, one for the political elites and one for the common folk.
In fact, our existing institutions are failing us. The politicization of departments and agencies designed to be unbiased and fair are anything but. The IRS targeting conservative groups sees Lois Lerner walk. The FBI gives Hillary Clinton a pass and goes out of its way to “recommend” to the Justice Department that Hillary Clinton should not be indicted over her email scandal. The Justice Department decides not to press forward with an indictment against the New Black Panther Party in a clear voter intimidation case.
If these are our “beloved” institutions that are integral to a democracy, then chances are calling the United States a true democracy is never been further from the truth.
